This fantasy novel became one of the most influential children’s book in which a little girl Momo tries to protect her friends from the grey gentlemen who steal the time of the humans so they could live. By telling the story of Momo and the time-thieves the writer criticized the modern age of consumerism and stress where individuals and storytelling become less important. It’s a great novel by a great German storyteller.
